| Asher Heimermann believes that all couples in committed, long-term relationships should have the same rights, benefits, and responsibilities, whether they are straight couples or same-sex couples. Heimermann opposes a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriages. Everyone should have the same freedoms and the same responsibilities. |

| Education |
|
| Asher Heimermann understands the importance of education. He believes every child should have the same chance to get a great education. There is no more important investment in the future than the education of our children and grandchildren. We should allow the students to have a voice when it comes to creating new policies. |

| Immigration |

| Everyday, at the southeren borders of the United States, millions illegal aliens are crossing the border with bedroom sets and night tables. Asher Heimermann welcomes cititzens across the world to the United States of America but those visitors and new comers need to do it the right way. We're very tough on security but we need to get more tougher. |

| Environment |

| Asher Heimermann strongly believes that it is our responsibility to protect America's extraordinary natural resources. The health of our families and the strength of our economy depend on our stewardship of the environment. New technologies that protect the environment will create new high-paying jobs. A cleaner environment means a stronger economy. |

| Genocide in Darfur |
|
| In three years of deadly conflicts in Darfur, at least 400,000 people have been killed, 2 million people have been displaced and more than 3.5 million men, women, and children have become entirely dependent on international aid. Heimermann has called for more international help and the United States needs to get involved and send help. Young Americans have helped bring the genocide in Darfur to our nation's attention. |

| Asher Heimermann and The Democratic Party is committed to real ethics reform and meaningful campaign finance reform that protects our rights and ensures that elected officials act ethically -- not just within the law, but within the spirit of the law.
